Sec. 28-35. Howard Commons Supplemental Regulations.

(a)     Smoking is prohibited at all times. No person shall at any time engage in smoking or smoke tobacco of any type or utilize electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes. Utilizing an e-cigarette means operating, holding, inhaling or exhaling smoke from a device used to simulate the experience of smoking, having a cartridge with a heater that vaporizes a liquid, containing or not containing nicotine, instead of burning tobacco.

(b)     Use of skateboards is prohibited.

(c)     Riding of bicycles is prohibited. Bicycles may be walked on the grounds.

(d)     In addition to the pet restrictions in Sec. 28-23 (1), no dogs are allowed on the great lawn.

(e)     Alcohol carry-ins shall not be allowed in the Biergarten, pavilion, or activity building.

(f)      Open fires and the use of grills by non-Village personnel of all kinds, (including, but not limited to, charcoal, wood, electric, gas, and propane) are prohibited.

Howard Commons Pet Policy

• Domestic pets are permitted on roads, sidewalks, trails, and natural areas where they will not interfere with the use of the facility by other people.
• Dogs must be leashed at all times on a leash not longer than 8 feet.
• Pets shall not be allowed in buildings, playgrounds, picnic and sport areas, or public event areas. At Howard Commons, this includes the Biergarten, splash pad, pavilion, and activity building.
• No dogs are allowed on the Howard Commons great lawn, which is the grassy seating area between the pavilion and amphitheater.
